Halifax Town Centre Management

Halifax Town Centre Forum is an independent not for profit limited company working to enhance Halifax Town Centre for all users. It was established in 1996 following the presentation of Calderdale CouncilsTown Centre strategy in 1995.

Halifax Town Centre Forum has a vision for Halifax which includes:

  • Encouraging more tourist visitors
  • Developing a comprehensive marketing plan for the town
  • Improve physical environment
  • Build on safety initiatives
  • Highlight the proven strengths as a business location
  • Promote the cultural side of the evening economy
In order to achieve this Halifax Town Centre Management was developed whic delivers the vision in a number of ways as outlined.
  • Our Ambassadors provide a uniformed on-street customer service for all town centre users
  • By working in partnership with all organisations involved in the development, promotion, and running of Halifax town centre
  • By working with the tourism organisation to raise the awareness and image of Halifax as a tourism destination
  • By helping to organise events which increase the number of visitors to the town. These include the award winning Halifax in Bloom scheme, Christmas lights switch-on, the Ice Sculpture Trail and the Halifax Food and Drink Festival
  • Managing the Radiolink scheme
  • By working with the Nightlife Initiative to improve safety and security in Halifax at night
  • By providing and promoting safety aspects such as CCTV, anti-graffiti film, personal attack alarms for business

Halifax Town Centre Management is made up of a team of seven staff managed by Beth Ward the Town Centre Manager. Beth is supported in her role by Emma Housman the Assistant Town Centre Manager and Diana Waugh the Senior Administrator. There are also four Town Centre Ambassadors, David Pickard and Paul Bellenger are our Senior Ambassadors working alongside Lizzie Crofts and Mike Harrison.
